This spring Museum MORE | Kasteel Ruurlo shows about 50 works from the poetic oeuvre of artist Lynne Leegte. Under the title Fantastic Voyage, her sculptures and photographs can be viewed in seven rooms and the stairwell.

In her work, the artist captures personal memories and family members’ old possessions in time. Melancholy and contemplation, transience and comfort echo through her work. Ruurlo Castle proves to be the perfect setting for these personal yet universal images of everyday items.
When Leegte first visited the castle, she was immediately intrigued by the various spaces. Alive with history, the rooms – with their lavishly decorated walls, ceilings and floors – are ideal for art interventions. Leegte has meticulously selected work appropriate for each room, and new sculptures have been made for some locations. Carefully distributed throughout the castle’s rooms, Leegte’s artworks together appear to tell a mysterious story recounting traces of human activity.
