Due to government guidelines, there are temporary walking routes in Ruurlo Castle. As a result, it is temporarily not possible for disabled people to visit 3 of the 14 rooms. The other rooms are easily accessible. A public employee will guide you to the starting points of the walking route.

You can enter and exit the museum via the disabled entrance. You can also continue to use our lift and toilet room. In Ruurlo Castle we use a fixed walking route for better traffic flow. Our public employees guide you from the lift to the starting point of the walking route. Read more about our visiting instructions and hygiene measures.

The museum is accessible to people with disabilities, however one must take into account the historical construction of the castle. For example, there are several heavy doors and thresholds that can be experienced as obstacles. Some castle rooms can also be visited via a detour. Ruurlo Castle has a disabled toilet and parking spaces (in our regular parking lot) and an elevator that is suitable for walkers and a wheelchair. You can also use a (free) loan wheelchair. Please note: from our parking lot it is a few minutes walk to the castle.

Are you a wheelchair or walker user? Then we advise you to bring someone who can guide you through the museum. Your service dog is also very welcome. In addition, our public employees are always ready to show you the right way.

Parking is free at Kasteel Ruurlo next to the historic building, navigation address Stapeldijk 1.

Alternative parking space at busy times

If there is no more space for your car at this parking lot, we advise you to park at the Houtwal in Ruurlo. Follow the white sign P2:

  1. Drive from Stapeldijk 1 towards Ruurlo.
  2. Take the first exit at the roundabout.
  3. Turn right before the railway to Houtwal.
  4. You can also park for free in this parking lot, behind Ruurlo Station. From the Houtwal it is a short 5 minute walk to the castle.
