Accessibility

The museum is accessible to people with disabilities, however one must take into account the historical construction of the castle. For example, there are several heavy doors and thresholds that can be experienced as obstacles. Some castle rooms can also be visited via a detour. Ruurlo Castle has a disabled toilet and parking spaces (in our regular parking lot) and an elevator that is suitable for walkers and a wheelchair. You can also use a (free) loan wheelchair. Please note: from our parking lot it is a few minutes walk to the castle.

Are you a wheelchair or walker user? Then we advise you to bring someone who can guide you through the museum. Your service dog is also very welcome. In addition, our public employees are always ready to show you the right way.

Parking

Parking is free at Kasteel Ruurlo next to the historic building, navigation address Stapeldijk 1.

Alternative parking space at busy times

If there is no more space for your car at this parking lot, we advise you to park at the Houtwal in Ruurlo. Follow the white sign P2:

  1. Drive from Stapeldijk 1 towards Ruurlo.
  2. Take the first exit at the roundabout.
  3. Turn right before the railway to Houtwal.
  4. You can also park for free in this parking lot, behind Ruurlo Station. From the Houtwal it is a short 5 minute walk to the castle.
